Beschreibung
Did you know that teenagers do not know as much as they let on? As a matter of fact, they have learned from the best; adults who also know everything! The big difference in "faking" this quality is that adults do not have to show off in front of classmates daily to seem smart! High school is a crazy, hormonal driven, jungle where daily it's about survival to fit in, which most often involves a quick wit, a positive attitude or pouty face, and of course (according to them) Crocs in tons of colors that will never actually match what they are wearing. From this manic mentality sometimes comes the most hysterical comments in the middle of class! These are not statements that are quietly spoken to me by my desk or in the hallway but rather shouted out in class without any filter or forethought for all to hear...
Student: "Yes! I know who Teddy Roosevelt is! He made Bears!"
Me: "Bears? As in the animal?"
Student: "Yes Downey! The Bear as in GRRRRR (while holding up his hands as paws)"
Me: "No, I assure you the bear, was here long before Teddy Roosevelt."
Student: (looking to his table mates) "I think she is wrong!"
It is this kind of wit and wisdom that helped to create this real look at some of the best nuggets of knowledge students have imparted to the world.
