Գրող, մանկավարժ եւ հասարակական գործիչ Լեւոն Շանթի ստեղծագործութեան նշանակութիւնը հայ գրականութեան եւ մշակոյթի պատմութեան մէջ հիմնականում պայմանաւորուած է նրա դրամատուրգիայով: Նրա գործերում արծարծուած են անհատի ու հասարակութեան փոխյարաբերութեան, եսի ու անձնազոհութեան, զգացմունքների ու ազատութեան տենչանքի, յարափոփոխ ապրումների ու տրամադրութիւնների խնդիրներ:
