He is the lord of the dead, his hell used to be the burial chamber of the tumuli, the fire of cremation has become the fire of hell and the devil's grandmother used to be the afterlife goddess a long time ago. The devil is what the majority fears - and he is the shadow, the repressed, what is missing - and thus also what is secretly most longed for. In Christianity, the devil is the punished perpetrator in hell and Christ is the redeemed victim in heaven - but who is the one who is whole? Who does not embody the power-molded perpetrator role like the devil, nor the powerlessness-molded victim role like Christ? Who is the one who embodies the independent, sovereign, self-contained and creative power?
