Seminar paper from the year 2023 in the subject Communications - Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Social Media, grade: A, , language: English, abstract: This paper examined social media as a tool for combating child trafficking in Nigeria. Social media has actually become ubiquitous and part and parcel of the daily lives of millions of people around the globe and has tremendous effect upon every facet of our personal and professional lives. Therefore, in curbing this ugly situation of child trafficking in Nigeria, social media should have potential roles to play. Social media performs a number of functions, which benefit the individual as a member of a society. These functions are as well applicable to curbing child trafficking in Nigeria and they range from using different formats like serious informational and educational functions to lighter functions like entertainment. So, the ultimate aim in this study was to appraise the viability of social media as a tool for combating child trafficking in Nigeria. Three research objectives, research questions and hypotheses guided the study. The sample of the study was 385 derived from a population 1040851 using the Australian sample size calculator.
