Beschreibung

The book is a joint publication with equal contributions by Dr. Indira Rampersad and Justice Dr. Anthony Gafoor. It presents the first comprehensive analysis of the jurisprudence of the Caribbean Court of Justice in both its original and appellate jurisdictions from 2005 to 2020. It seeks to address the central issue of whether the jurisprudence of the CCJ has the capacity to foster regional integration. Through a series of semi-structured interviews, primary and secondary sources, the book harnesses the dynamic interplay between the disciplines of International Relations and Law. It claims that by attempting to uphold the rule of law and promote both economic and non-economic forms of the second generation regional integration, the CCJ aims to inculcate a sense of obligation among member states to uphold both economic agreements and non-economic community rights and values.
