In a perilous world, Iseman rescues Lady Pennywith from deadly Menegoth spiders, leading her to Ewin's group. Pennywith reveals her connection to Galen, once known as Stillow, and their long-lost daughter. As they navigate the treacherous Hogo swamp, they face attacks from Werewolves and a Vampyre named Creech. Ewin is saved by Radenelle, a half-Elf witch, who heals him and ignites a deep bond between them.
Meanwhile, the Army of Liefe battles goblins and trolls to reach the Plain of Tears, only to be ambushed by giant maggot-like worms. Queen Lyndelynn manages to quell the threat but believes King Elsinor is lost.
Jarred and Winston, thought dead, emerge from an orc pit, with Jarred severely injured. They soon join King Borgn and his dwarves to confront an awakened basilisk, resulting in Jarred's sacrifice.
Ewin and Radenelle decide to cross the dangerous Moat, facing a leviathan and discovering Wild Magic within Ewin that blocks his ability to learn magic. Their journey continues on the Plain of Tears, revealing signs of Hsing warriors and the ongoing battle against dark forces in this epic series.
