An encounter with an apparently anti-Semitic doctor forces Schwartzman to confront his beliefs about Palestinians being the enemy of the Jewish people.

BENT TOWARD JUSTICE embodies that theme with a story about a morally passionate man who begins to question his beliefs, leading him to discover he is guilty of the kind of prejudice that he so fervently despised. This story examines what it means to see people as the "other"; it challenges the reader to see past our biases and find our shared humanity.
