This is the seminal work on the subject, from which all other works start. It traces the history of the Legions from the fall of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the rise of its leader - Jan Henryk Dabrowski. Originally published in French, in 1829 as two volumes, we have combnied them into one big volume. This is the most recent translation of this work into English in the past fifty years
