The conversational, counselling style of the book is particularly concerned with, but not limited to, helping women and men in understanding their self-perceptions and behaviours that can lead to poor communications between couples, relationship breakdown, abuse, and domestic violence. The self-titled chapters, grouped into four themed sections, provokes and challenges us to examine and understand the reasons why we behave in certain ways that defeat our fundamental purpose of living as happy, self-assured, worthy individuals capable of caring, loving and respecting our partner and ourselves.
