The world is moving towards its destiny. The interdependence of peoples and nations of the world is no more an imagination but a fact. Accepting others as part of our family is vital to create a sensible, equitable, sustainable world. Some of the statements heard frequently during COVID-19 are very promising towards connecting for celebration. Here are a few examples:
- connecting without any discrimination
- we are all in this together
- the whole planet faces the same emergency
- we want tomorrow to be better than yesterday was
- let's share the good things of this world
- the dream of becoming connected is becoming a reality.
How amazing are these beautiful statements? We should collectively be proud of it. It's good to be optimistic, but at the same time, we should not be too naive. There are still many challenges we are facing that require immediate attention. This book has answers to some of these challenges towards a better future. Hooshmand Badee (PhD) is an academic economist, writer, and researcher with over thirty years of teaching experience. Having lived in the world's poorest and wealthiest nations for more than four decades, he has witnessed first-hand the inequalities in people's standard of living. Such observations fuelled his passion for exploring the potential of a new and sustainable economic life for humans and the environment. He has demonstrated this in several published books, papers and talks at numerous international conferences. He believes that this starts by working closely with the grassroots population to put them at the centre of economic activities.
