George Frideric Handel (1685 – 1759) was a German baroque composer. He spent most of his career in London and became famous for his oratorios, operas, anthems, and organ compositions. Handel was born in the same year as Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Scarlatti, and he is commonly hailed as one of the most important composers of the Baroque era. His most notable works include: “Water Music”, “Music for the Royal Fireworks”, and “Messiah”.
