This is the journal companion to the book How to Pray in the Spirit Effectively:
There is no doubt that prayer is often made by many people, even from different religious backgrounds. Yet, prayer in the spirit is seldom made. Most of our prayers are a manifestation of the flesh and our immediate needs. Praying in the spirit is another dimension of prayer. It is prayer that sees beyond the need of man and transcends the barrier of human flesh to enter into communion with God. As Jesus declared "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth" (John 4.24). This book shows believers how to move beyond just prayer, into learning to pray in the Spirit. How can we engage God, who is a spirit, unless we ourselves are in this Spirit? Real, effective prayer must be made in the Spirit. Jesus said, "The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life" (John 6.63).
Our words in prayer must be made in the Spirit to reach the throne of God and become an aroma before God. There is a second dimension of prayer that this book offers. Once you have learned to pray in the Spirit, you must move to the next level of spiritual prayer. You must learn to pray in the Spirit effectively. Your prayer must not be merely ritualistic but spiritual, producing tremendous results for the believer. This is a book unlike any other, written with a deep burden and devotion to the discipline of prayer. It is a well or a spring of life. As Jesus said,"If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink" (John 7:37). Drink from it, and you will never thirst again. Prayer is the most powerful and transformative tool believers in Christ possess. Yet prayer in the Spirit is something even more profound.
