The Cudoni family lived by a creed: No man who kills a Cudoni dies of old age. Filippo Cudoni's grandfather also believed that the only good enemy is a dead one. This story follows Filippo, the oldest of eight siblings, in 1896 southern Italy, as they battle the town mafioso seeking to control their lives. In 1898, Filippo and two of his brothers left Italy via Marseille for Pittsburgh, joining relatives there. They discovered that the Cosa Nostra in Pittsburgh was even more ruthless than the mafioso back home. Upholding the Cudoni Creed, they fought back and formed their own group, The Mano Rosso. Conflict ensued, and freedom came at a great cost. Filippo faced personal struggles, including a forbidden love in Pittsburgh and unresolved vendettas in Italy. Returning home, he discovered his first love had been wronged by the Mafiosi, reigniting old battles. Despite finding new love, tragedy struck as Filippo was hung by the neck on his way back to America. This gripping tale of family, honor, and relentless struggle spans continents and generations, deeply rooted in the Cudoni Creed.
