Beschreibung
Betsy Kuhn has a big, bold dream. But how far will she go to make it a reality?
Few sixteen-year-old girls spend their free time fishing the rugged coastline of Nova Scotia. But Betsy knows the scariest things in life aren't brutal storms, raging seas, or great white sharks-they're the terrors you don't see coming. Like losing your dad and the rosy future you took for granted- like taking over her father's business. Who says she can't be a lobster fishing boat captain?
Adults do say that being a teen is hard. They just leave out the bit about it being relentless, grueling, and tortuous.
When Betsy and her best friend, Austin, set off for a weekend of canoe camping on a tiny island just beyond the sight of land, a baffling accident leads her to rescue a fisherman clinging to burning wreckage.
The mysterious teen has freckles, obsidian eyes, and even darker secrets. He's the answer to all of Betsy's problems-or just the start of them.
When the lone survivor, Jerry, reveals a sunken sport bag on the wreck site holds a mysterious shipment from a rip-off run gone bad, Betsy must decide whether to report everything to the cops or help Jerry. Desperate for quick cash to help her mother save their B&B, Betsy is tempted to dive the shipwreck and recover the loot for a share of the prize money.
If she isn't careful, Betsy will find herself trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea. Unless the devil has met his match.
