Driven by an insatiable curiosity, Isska embarks on a perilous journey into the ocean’s abyss with her two closest friends: Rhea Voss, a Drifter with an intuitive connection to the ocean currents, and Kaelen Baines, a brilliant tinkerer ostracized for his unconventional ideas. Together, they navigate the uncharted depths in a retrofitted submersible, facing shimmering forests of bioluminescent jellyfish, terrifying underwater storms, and the chilling wrath of mechanical sea predators.
Meanwhile, back in Marrowspire, Elder Elara Morell, the city's spiritual leader, views Isska’s quest as a sacrilegious threat to their delicate balance with the Leviathan. As whispers of dissent turn into open accusations, Isska’s quest becomes a race against time, not only to uncover the truth but to save her city from the rising tide of fear and suspicion.
Within the breathtaking spectacle of the Leviathan's Lantern, they discover a devastating truth: the Leviathan is dying, its fading light a harbinger of Marrowspire's extinction. Armed with forbidden knowledge and ancient technology, Isska and her friends must choose between clinging to comforting myths or facing a harsh reality.
